Loud with the Cloud

This is my first Blog post of any kind. As I wanted to master the cloud and I read somewhere –

If you want to learn something, read about it. If you want to understand something, write about it. If you want to master something, teach it. – Yogi Bhajan”

I haven’t find many individual blogs, sharing views about the Enterprise cloud offerings and how Cloud is changing the things.

I want to start a platform to discuss various cloud technologies, primarily IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) & PaaS (Platform as a Service). Given the kind of push I am experiencing for the companies to take more and more Cloud Initiatives while speaking to the CIO’s, CTO’s, VP’s of  almost all size and verticals, I am pretty sure about >50% the technology landscape moving to the Cloud in next 5-7 Years.

Sometimes their will be Step by Step Blog for any technical problem. Sometimes only generic discussions, we can discuss the competition and different components of a successful cloud solution.

IaaS, no doubt provides a great starting point to embark the cloud journey, but, when in a longer run more and more entire landscapes will move to cloud, PaaS and SaaS will play a very important role to make these companies cloud operative.

Companies have to consider many aspects before initiating any Cloud adoption, They should choose the right vendor whose road map resonates with your plans. Few considerations which may be very important while taking any such decisions are –

  • Maturity of Cloud
  • Capability to provide seamless integrations
  • Regulatory Requirments
  • Ability to extend and scale up the environments
  • Building blocks of Cloud Infrastructure
  • Capability to Cloudify my whole environment.

Planning to elaborate each of these points in future posts. Feel free to suggest if we can add few more.
